Painted Purple - Making it Work!
My first Maybelline Color Tattoo was Painted Purple. It looks gorgeous in the pot but didn’t swatch or go on well. It was just too sheer. You can see my initial review here. I just couldn’t get the colour to pop in swatches or on my eyes.
But I refused to give up on it. Something that pretty couldn’t be such a bust right?
I used my MAC 282 duo fibre shader brush. I am sure any flat synthetic shader brush will work. I patted it into the pot to pick up the colour and then patted it on my eye lid. The colour was amazing! The photos below do not do justice to how vibrant the purple really is.
I used UD primer potion (the original formula) to prime my lid. YAH if you read past posts the UD primer potion in Eden makes my eyes dry right up but the original formula is fantastic. Anyhooo, I am not sure if this made a difference in making the colour pop but don't skip it LOL.
Then I patted Painted Purple on my eyelids.I started to use Glamourdolleyes’ All Nighter eyeshadow in the crease but discovered that it was almost the same color as Painted Purple! What? So what was left on the brush I patted on the Painted Purple to set it. Then I put Creep (black) from my Naked palette in the outer V area. Over that I blended Glamourdolleyes’ Typical Girl and into the crease and under the eyes. Since I had the Naked palette out I used Virgin under the brow and to soften the edges. In the inner corner of my eyes I used the Color Tattoo in Too Cool.
For the rest of the eyes I used; Annabelle liquid eyeliner in Black, Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Zero, L'oreal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara .
I am just happy I got Painted Purple to show up! YES!!! Now where can I go with these purple peepers? LOL Tuesday night and nowhere to go HAHA!
|This is how Painted Purple originally went on for me. I patted it on my eye with my finger and no primer.|
