Infallible vs. Unstoppable

by - June 23, 2011

When I first tried Maybelline’s Unstoppable pencil liner, I was impressed. It stayed where it was supposed to and lasted a long time. Then the weather turned hot and humid and then I had racoon eyes. The Unstoppable eyeliner does not hold up well to humidity. Even though my upper lash line was still nicely defined, the bottom lash line had smeared like crazy.  I don’t touch my eyes too much during the day. I have phobia that I might have touched something yucky (insert horrible pathogen here) and then touched my eye. Bleaghhh.  Anyhoooo, it was a bit of a disappointmentL.
So I busted open my carbon black L’Oreal Infallible pencil liner. The first thing I noticed was that it goes on a lot smoother than the Unstoppable. It practically glided on like a liquid liner pen. And it stayed on a lot better. I haven't used on my waterline yet so I am not sure how long it will last there but it did stay put during an 8 hour work day. It comes with a built in smudger (haven't used it) and a built in sharpener. You have a few second to smudge the liner before it 'sets'. I do have to say the carbon black is very very black. Love that.

Last week it was pretty warm here and when it wasn’t, it was rainy and humidL. When I wore the L’Oreal Infallible liner, I had no noticeable smudges under my eyes.  So now I am REALLY impressed! It comes off relatively easily at the end of the day as well. Bonus.
So now I am favouring L’Oreal’s infallible eyeliner over Maybelline’s Unstoppable eyeliner.  I am not going to toss out my Maybelline eyeliner but I think I will save it for the fall or winter when humidity is not a factor. I just hope it holds up to frostbite and windburn! HAHA Seriously, it gets freakin’ COLD up here!
Next step:  get waterproof mascara. I just stocked up on L’Oreal Voluminous mascara and not one of them is waterproof. LOL.  Now I have an excuse to go shopping again! YAY!
