September 2012 Glymm Bag

by - September 22, 2012

I received my Glymm bag earlier this week. I did not get too excited about it. I did like a few of the items in it. I love hair products and thought the bag was nice. But I was just not excited about it. Normally I rip these subs open as soon as I receive them. This one I just put in my tote at work and waited until I was at home and opened it after dinner.

In this month Glymm bag, we got a cream version of the same makeup bag from last month. The interior has black lining. I like the Glymm makeup bags. So far they seem to be pretty sturdy.

September Glymm bag

The rundown:

EVOLVH UltraShine Moisture Shampoo   deluxe sample
Full Size: 8.5 oz / $24.00
Ideal for both color treated and virgin hair, this Shampoo gently cleanses while infusing moisture and nutrients, leaving hair nourished.

EVOLVH UltraShine Moisture Conditioner   deluxe sample
Full Size: 8.5 oz / $25.00
Rather than coating hair, this conditioner penetrates the hair shaft to moisturize and repair hair from the inside out.

LA FRESH Waterproof Makeup Remover   2 samples
Full Size: 24 wipes / $9.99
Gently wipe your eyes & lips with love and good intention. Soon they will be sparkling clean. No need to rinse.

BENTABERRY Super Moisturizing Face Cream for Girls   deluxe sample
Full Size: 30 ml / $19.00
The high-quality super moisturizing face cream for girls is made from 100% natural active ingredients: apple, prickly pear, strawberry, kiwi, kigelia africana and macadamia oil.

VILLAINESS Dulce En Fuego Whipped Body Crème   deluxe sample
Full Size: 177 ml / $15.75
Whip your skin into shape and 'redefine bad' with this thick, yet light and quite soluble body crème - much like edible whipped heavy cream. Yum.

My Thoughts:

The Evolvh products are supposed to be pretty good for curly hair, so I have high hopes for them.
I really liked the La Fresh nail polish removers I received in a previous Glymm bag so I hope the La Fresh Waterproof Makeup Wipes meets my expectations.
I do not like the bentaberry stuff. Nope. Uhuh. I am pretty sure this is what broke my face out last month. Still mad.
The Villainess Whipped Body Crème smells pretty good in the jar, like Christmas cookies. It took me awhile to guess the scent of the nutmeg. On my skin, I did not like the scent so much. It smelt a little like my dad’s cologne LOL.

I have cancelled my Glymm subscription. Last month was good but this month...meh. I have said it before; I want at least one cosmetic item in these subscriptions. Since Glymm is not consistent with cosmetic items, I decided to cancel. I will be receiving the October Glymm bag as I have already paid for it.

So that’s it for my Glymm bag, what did you think?

    1. It seems everyone got the same thing. It wasn't a very exciting bag/box at all. Hopefully the next box will be better

  2. I know, I left mine sitting on the couch all day...I just wasn't looking forward to it. Although, thanks to Glymm I will always have shampoo for my hair!

    1. IKR! When I don't have the urge to rip a sub open as soon as I get it, then the love affair is over! LOL Now watch the next be AMAZING. It seems to me alot people unsubscribed this month. Even with the nail polish offer.

  3. Just found your blog & really enjoying it so far! I'm kinda like you - I'm stuck at home with degenerating discs & osteoarthritis, but when I can make it out, I wanna look good. I also love deluxe samples! I order from Sephora & Murale more for the freebies than the actual products. That's how I found you - the Glossybox & Glymm reviews. Thanks for the info on September...hope October is as cool! I also signed up for Julep & LooseButton. I can't believe I didn't know until yesterday stuff like this existed! Have I got all the boxes that ship to Canada, or do you know of any others? I want to try all of them myself before I decide which I'll subscribe to long term.

    1. HI there. Having a bum spine sucks so bad! But when I look good I do 'feel' better and am happier. Even if I am limping all the way to Sephora HAHA.

There are a couple other Canadian boxes; Topbox $10 mth, Luxe Box $26 quarterly, The Natural Beauty Box $15-20, Sweet Delight Divalious Sample Box $26,

      Then there are a few that ship to Canada;
      Starlooks (makeup only)S15/mth USD
Beauty Box 5 $15 mth USD

If I am forgetting any other subscriptions can someone add on here?
My two favorite are Topbox and Glossybox.

  4. Hooray! There's more! Soo excited! Really wanna get one of each & then settle on maybe 3 that I'll get long term subscriptions to. I think I'm gonna make this my 'Chick Club' gift this year, too. I have a group of 7 girlfriends & our birthdays are spaced out exactly a year from April 17 of one year to April 16 the next year. So every November we have a weekend Spa Getaway (Body Blitz this year) & celebrate everyone at once. We used to bring little gifts, but it got expensive. So I changed it to a 'celebrity swag bag'. All of us decide on one thing (under $20) that we love ourselves & we buy 7 of them. We bring 7 gift bags & put them on a table & we put a gift in each bag. At the end of the weekend we all go home with a bag of 7 gifts people love, instead of the usual Secret Santa mug & Hot Chocolate/Candles/Tim Hortons Gift Card. Was gonna share the New Garnier 7 Day Intensives Body
Lotion 'cause I'm really diggin' it...but why share 1 thing, when I can send 'em all a gift box with 4 or 5? Thanks for the tips!

    1. Wow, that sounds like a fun idea. My 2 bffs and I always go have a fancy smancy dinner and then trade gifts while drinking a bottle of wine (or 4) for Christmas.
Just an FYI, Topbox has a wait list.
