Luxe Box – Fall 2012 Edition

by - September 06, 2012

Hi everyone,

Picture it...Winnipeg, May 2012...

Loose Button changed their subscription service from a monthly service to a seasonal (quarterly) service that also included a price increase. I was quite vocal about my displeasure about the sudden change, lack of information and price increase. I was happy for the most part with my monthly boxes. I was resistant to change.

Luxe Box Fall 2012 Edition

Now that the ’new and improved’ Luxe Box has hit my doorstep, am I a convert? Kind of. There were several items I was totally thrilled to get and a couple others, not so much. But that is much the case for most subscription boxes I receive.

My initial thought is this an improvement. Loose Button did promise 7-8 samples that would allow us more uses as well as additional perks. My box does have eight samples that will allow me to really determine how I like the product. Loose Button has also emailed out several perks to members in the last two months as well; Peacock Parade, Buytopia.

The new packaging is luxurious and top notch. The contents were wrapped in a lovely white cloth encased in a sturdy rectangular white box. I loved the gold accents on the box. The personal touch with our first initial embossed on the seal of the product card envelope was thoughtful. Good job Loose Button.

Cute - my initial embossed on the Loose Button seal

I think the product variety in member boxes is great; Marcelle, Lancome, China Glaze, Eyeko, blinc, benefit, Paco Rabanne etc.

The products I received in my box;

Fall Edition contents

China Glaze  and   benefit

China Glaze Nail Polish – Exotic Encounters
I am always happy to get China Glaze. This was one my top choices from their fall On Safari line.

Benefit Stay Don’t Stray primer
I have always wanted to try benefit’s Stay Don’t Stray primer. Love me some benefit.

Eyeko

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner
I have to say the Eyeko liner is pretty cool. The felt tip should make creating winged eyeliners looks a breeze. The little heart I drew on my wrist is still there...8 hours later J as intense and no smudges. I hope it is easy to remove.

Kerastase  and  Loose Button

Kerastase Elixir Ultime
This seems like a small sample but it is oil so a few drops should do the trick. It has a perfumy scent to it. It is made for colour treated hair, which I have.

Loose Button Exfoliating Pad
This was in the cute little cardstock gift box.

paco rabanne  and  Orlane

Paco Rabanne Lady Million Sensual Body Lotion
I haven’t opened this yet as it is sealed. I will save this for special occasions.

Orlane Thermo-Active Firming Serum
I am not a fan of thermal active face products. My skin does not react well to them. Should I try it? Eep.

Orlane Absolute Skin Recovery Polyactive
The card states that this product is supposed to defend against extreme fatigue, a cause of skin aging. The formula crates visible results in a few applications. I am trying this out tonight!

There were no prices on the product card. The card states that we can log onto our Loose Button account to view complete product information. Maybe I am tired but I couldn't find the product information.

Do I think the box is worth $26 – considering the Eyeko eyeliner and China Glaze nail polish equals $26, I would say yes. Would I continue to subscribe? Yes, but that is also mitigated by the credit I still have. I am curious to see what the Winter box will bring.

Subscriptions plans:
$26 - every 3 months
$50 - every 6 month
$96 - annually

What do you think about the Fall Luxe Box? Did you like yours?

  4. I was OK with mine, I was pretty happy to see an Eyeko liner in mine and a CG polish, but the rest was alright...I guess we'll see what the Winter box brings! Did you see how some girls had a full size Marcelle BB Cream?

    1. Yes I saw the Marcelle BB Cream. I am trying not to dwell on that LOL. My top three products were all the cosmetic items.
I hope the winter box knocks our socks off.
